      Thanks for the image, I am certain this was the bird I saw on the 15th north of the pipe bridge. I only got a glimpse of it as it flew south. A first for me.

        Thank you for raising this here. There is another factor re safety too in the form of a number of nuclear waste trains crossing this viaduct daily and people using the track being in close proximity, accidents, potential terrorism too.

              Pied wag 3 flood
              Swallow 2×2 parties
              Sand martin few small parties through (Skerton weir yesterday 20 +2 House martin)

                            Lesser whitethroat 1 wildfowlers, also Black-tailed godwits, snipe, LRP etc
                            Wheatear 1 maize field dung heap, 2 on flood, also on flood meadow pipits, pied/white wagtails
                            Peregrine 1.

                              Green Woodpecker, Rowton Brook Farm woods.
                              Jubilee Tower area, Lapwings, Snipe, Golden Plover, Curlew, Redshank, Skylark quite a few (great view of pair on molehills)
                              Wheatear 2, Meadow Pipits and Pied wagtails (Abbeystead Lane area).
                              Buzzard 5 circling Procter Moss Road.
                              LBB Gulls good number present, some in field others circling towards Hawthornthwaite fell Top area.
                              Raven (Caw House area), Jackdaws numerous, Carrion crow numerous.

                                Common sandpiper was on the small area of mud at the southern tip of the island as seen from the marshy bit just off the path at Skerton.
