      About a dozen Fieldfare in roadside trees near Hawthornthwaite, south of Abbeystead
      2 Sand Martin prospecting for nest sites in a bank on Cam Brook, south of Abbeystead
      1 Golden Plover heard, Holdron Moss.
      2 Male Wheatear. 1 E slopes of Ward’s Stone, 1 where the shooting track from Ward’s Stone crosses Grizedale Brook.

        Green Woodpecker, Rowton Brook Farm woods.
        Jubilee Tower area, Lapwings, Snipe, Golden Plover, Curlew, Redshank, Skylark quite a few (great view of pair on molehills)
        Wheatear 2, Meadow Pipits and Pied wagtails (Abbeystead Lane area).
        Buzzard 5 circling Procter Moss Road.
        LBB Gulls good number present, some in field others circling towards Hawthornthwaite fell Top area.
        Raven (Caw House area), Jackdaws numerous, Carrion crow numerous.

          Forgot to mention a few butterflies here and there on the fell tops yesterday too. 2 Peacock and 2 Small Tortoiseshell.
          As Stephen noted, nice to see the waders back on territory, including a few Oystercatchers south of Abbeystead
          Large numbers of LBB gulls on Hawthornthwaite Fell Top – in the hundreds, maybe half as many on the top of Brennand Great Hill
