About a dozen Fieldfare in roadside trees near Hawthornthwaite, south of Abbeystead
2 Sand Martin prospecting for nest sites in a bank on Cam Brook, south of Abbeystead
1 Golden Plover heard, Holdron Moss.
2 Male Wheatear. 1 E slopes of Ward’s Stone, 1 where the shooting track from Ward’s Stone crosses Grizedale Brook.Green Woodpecker, Rowton Brook Farm woods.
Jubilee Tower area, Lapwings, Snipe, Golden Plover, Curlew, Redshank, Skylark quite a few (great view of pair on molehills)
Wheatear 2, Meadow Pipits and Pied wagtails (Abbeystead Lane area).
Buzzard 5 circling Procter Moss Road.
LBB Gulls good number present, some in field others circling towards Hawthornthwaite fell Top area.
Raven (Caw House area), Jackdaws numerous, Carrion crow numerous.-

Forgot to mention a few butterflies here and there on the fell tops yesterday too. 2 Peacock and 2 Small Tortoiseshell.
As Stephen noted, nice to see the waders back on territory, including a few Oystercatchers south of Abbeystead
Large numbers of LBB gulls on Hawthornthwaite Fell Top – in the hundreds, maybe half as many on the top of Brennand Great Hill -
