First ringed in Iceland July 2012 the same bird at Condor Pool I guess.in reply to: Common Scoter Hala #5089I am very often entertained by a Starling in the Walnut tree with it’s varied imitations of Buzzard, Oystercatcher and Curlew also with Redshank.

Alan (Sunderland Point)in reply to: Sunderland Point Lades Marsh WeBS Count #3036Hi Guy,
Thanks for your Starling update, they really are entertaining once in full flaw, so realistic is the mimic as you say it has you searching for the real thing. I wonder if any of the winter visitors from Europe take with them any mimics learned during winter, you can imagine one deep in a European city belting out an Oystercatcher mimic with observers all confused.in reply to: Arnside Raven Nest #2589Two Ravens at Sunderland Point, seen on a regular basis, in times past never ever.
in reply to: Sunderland Point, Middleton Wader Roost #2485They were there from me first sighting them at 11am and flying at around 12 15ish, I would have guessed Whoopers.
in reply to: Sunderland Point, Lades Marsh Area and River #2140All Godwits remained on the exposed mudflats/sandbanks around Lades Marsh area, it was only a 9.1mtr tide with plenty of exposed areas at high water, as Garry referred on a 10mtr+, everything is lifted and flying to various locations.
Interesting count Garry on the Middleton roost due to no overlap. -
