in reply to: Canalside Cetti’s #3350
I’ve been down to listen to Mr Atkins now, this is the best I could get, because he kept moving around, and I only had my phone!
in reply to: Canalside Cetti’s #3347Guy, I can help with that! Probably the best place to put them would be xeno-canto, but if you struggle to register or whatever, I can upload them there for you, if you email them to me [email protected].
in reply to: Canalside Cetti’s #3333You can tell it’s the same male and not its recent rival because of its atypical / variant song– which is more Nightingale / Thrush Nightingale-like.
This must be why the Spanish name for Cetti’s warbler is “bastard nightingale”

in reply to: Eric Morecambe Complex #3300I was over in Northumberland last week, and also spotted a very diurnal barn owl, hunting in the dunes at 10 in the morning!
in reply to: Search Function … new web design #1597Eddy, I’ve dumped out the raw data back to 2004 (I think it’s all there) from the sightings forum in this spreadsheet.
If I get time, I’ll make something to present in a bit more of a palatable form, but at this at least means anybody who wants to can get at the raw data. The people who built the site were going to charge an arm and a leg to do anything with it, so now the only option is for me to try to do something with it in my spare time (which there isn’t much of). It’s basically just a massive CSV dump, but it’s here anyway:

in reply to: Brookhouse & Local sightings #1528Just to manage expectations, don’t expect this any time soon (and it may also be something you have to run on your own computer, because I probably don’t have anywhere to host it unless I can persuade the people who are running the site now to host a database and some code for me). At the moment I just have a backup of the MySQL database with all the data in its raw form.
