      I am seeing good numbers in Pilling/Cockerham areas too John. This seems to be a feature of late January and into February. 20 +now regular at our feeding sites.

        TBF. In my experience Purple Herons are much more secretive than Grey Heron. And Leighton has many places where a shy heron can hide

        On the other hand there are lots of young stripy Grey Herons around at the mo.

          As Rosie advised some days ago, one or two people experienced problems logging in to LDBWS. One of the consequences was that the original post entered by me in January suddenly acquired the name of “Adam Booth” without any input from me and the link no longer worked. I have now corrected the link
