Another bite of the sea-cherry!
LDBWS are giving Heysham Head and also Morecambe Stone Jetty another go early on Saturday morning from 6AM. Members and non-members welcome.
The weather forecast at time of writing (brisk south-easterlies cloudy, dry at first but rain increasing through the morning) looks eminently suitable for passage of Arctic Skuas, terns including Arctic and Black and other migrating seabirds…..or not– as the case may be!
The end of the Stone Jetty (where expert Nick Godden will be stationed) can be good for seeing birds at close range but there’s little shelter from wind and showers. Heysham Head is better for elevation and shelter. Dan Haywood and other ‘guides / spotters’ will be stationed there.
Let us know if you’re interested via [email protected] stating ‘Saturday Seawatch’ but stay tuned because if the forecast changes we might want to cancel.
