A flock of common scoter heard flying over NE at 7.55pm

Water pipit at Leighton in a cut area near Causeway with 7+ pied wagtails. Bittern booming South of the causeway at the far end. Several Marsh tits now singing here and at Hale Moss Sd5077.
20-25 whooper swan at Holmere on 14th early morning only

in reply to: Morecambe black redstart #4532Not a surprise at all to find the black redstart still in the same area of Sandylands near the blue house about 11.05 this morning. Mostly using the gardens today. Don’t be put off by “no sign today” messages! It’s elusive and can easily go out of sight in the gardens or rocks but will surely remain all winter unless we get a spell of hard weather.
Also rock pipit again in the same area
in reply to: Leighton Mos and RSPB Warton Miers #4471Leighton Moss this morning – 7 great white egret left the roost, 3 Marsh harrier, chiffchaff, 70 siskin, 5 mistle thrush, singing stock dove, 6 goldeneye. About 230 lapwing flew west in several flocks including a surprise ruff mid-morning.
Also spotted Redshank on the Eric Morecambe pool and 21 twite and c. 40 skylark at Bolton-Le-Sands.
