Two White-fronted Geese flew in to join a mixed group of c.750 Pink-footed Geese and Greylag Geese in the fields between Freeman’s Pools and Aldcliffe Wildfowlers’ Pools at 12.50 pm. Unfortunately I only had my binoculars so couldn’t discern the bill colour with absolute certainty, but the overall dark colouration and fairly extensive black barring on the bellies suggested that they were Greenland rather than Russian.
