The RSPB is working with the Bay Health Festival to try to get more people involved with nature for the good of their health – and for the health of nature.

We are planning to have a ‘Bird of the Month’ project. This will encourage people to look out for particular birds at different times of the year, make them aware of why that birds is around or active at the moment, link them to the changing seasons, encourage them to go out and find it, give some fun/interesting facts and explain the conservation challenges it faces.

We need people with some seasonal bird knowledge who could help create a calendar of birds that will be used for the project. It won’t all need to be done for a year in advance and shouldn’t take a huge amount of time. With a bit of luck it might bring in some new LDBWS members.

If you would like to be involved, I would love to hear from you.

      Many thanks,
      Alasdair
