      Silverrdale Moss on 25th
      Bittern 2 booming males
      Canada Goose 32
      Greylag 52 on fields at Arnside End
      Lapwing 3-4 pairs on the same fields
      Visited two sites near Crag Bank which used to have numbers of Lapwing but none at all today even though the habitat looks good with pools of water.

        I had a trawl around Abbeystead and Dolphinholme yesterday afternoon and it was striking how few lapwing I encountered. Also in February and March there were very few inland flights of daily commuting flocks….this used to be a regular sight over Lancaster.
