Peregrine calling and mantling prey on our drive at Haverbrack this afternoon. Sightings not uncommon as we’re over the hill from Sandside Quarry and the bird has been around for a few days, but the victim was somewhat unexpected, plucked white-spotted brown-black primaries indicating GS Woodpecker, presumably killed at low level.
