A presumed passage Stonechat was perching on spartina on Stodday Marsh.

The hedges were peppered with Goldcrests, with 26 noted along the main drag between Freeman’s Pools and Stodday Picnic area. Seven Song Thrushes along same stretch was above baseline (!) and considered to be new-in night migrants. No Chiffchaffs along this line today (compare with 9 Chiffchaffs October 2nd).

In other news three Green Sandpipers were using Stodday sewage works (ASC3), 21 Pied Wagtails and 4 Little Egrets were feeding in ASC5 and three Tree Sparrows were in ASC11, near Arna Wood Lane. A Ring-necked Parakeet flew along Willow Lane, Lancaster.
