      Yesterday, Friday, no swallows.

Today from 9am a reasonable number, perhaps 12 zooming through northwards and what appear to be ‘our’ summer resident nesting pair back on site and examining the machine shed for changes. I’d hauled the winter machinery up into the loft on Thursday and brought the summer equipment down. They usually nest on the ridge I-beam which carries the lifting gear. Lucky timing.

Couple of swallows in evidence in Scotforth this morning, also one seen over the canal between Galgate and Brantbeck bridge while doing the WeBS count.
