    At least 3 bitterns booming throughout the day, audible from Causeway and reserve paths. There are a minimum of 5 birds booming on the site currently.

    Great white egret – 3 birds seen today inc 1 in full breeding clobber (black bill, pink thighs etc) and another on its way…

    Influx of sand martins early afternoon with c30 birds feeding over the pools

    Green sandpiper (area with no public access)

    Chiffchaff on Lower path

    Min 5 marsh harriers – great views of displaying birds from the path to Grisedale and Skytower (now open)
