Saturday (27 March) highlights from the main reserve:
c500 sand martins throughout much of the day feeding over the pools & reedbed
At least 3 different bitterns booming on and off all day
Osprey reported over Causeway Pool in the morning
Lots of marsh harrier activity – at least 6 birds present
Other stuff included: singing chiffchaffs, Cetti’s warblers, tawny owl, pochard etc.
