      Kingfisher showing very well on the Ashton Road stretch of Lancaster Canal (SD 46750 60183) this lunchtime. Lots of black headed gulls, and a few common gulls and grey herons in the flooded fields by the canal. Also a very vocal buzzard calling from a distant hedge!
