Before the tide started to run this morning: 1000s of oystercatchers, c800 black-tailed godwits, 190 mallard out on sands, 6 greenshank, 1 spotted redshank, + redshanks, curlews, cormorants, 15 little egrets, heron, and usual gulls.
Shanks and godwits headed inland as tide arrived, when oyc and curlew numbers boosted by more birds coming in off the estuary + 4 dunlin.
Autumn lady’s tresses now in bigger numbers than mid-week in Jack Scout.
Road to JBP closed for 4 weeks from 16th August, but works not being undertaken this morning. Although signage indicates closed to pedestrians, Jack Scout and shore south of Jack Scout has been possible while works underway.
