      Previously sent from my phone but disappeared into the ether.

      HMP this morning:
      In the orchard hedge, a female blackcap foraging in the ivy.

      The nuthatch pair seem established, though he is still singing well. Previous years they have not been present in breeding months (March – June) but have now been around continuously since last July.

      Despite its bad experience of predation in past years, the moorhen is again building a nest 7 metres up in a tree in the Japanese garden.
