      09.30-11.45 today.
      1 flock of c220 pink-footed geese flying north.
      Huge flocks of lapwing and golden plover being driven up by the incoming tide – stacked up in layers from Basil Point as far as the eye could see upstream. Dunlin, redshank and bar-tailed godwit flocks. Small numbers of curlew, 1 greenshank.
      3 little egret, 1 grey heron on canal.
      Wigeon, 6 goldeneye, 5 goosander, 26 tufted duck, mallard, teal, coot, 4 moorhen (canal), 5 mute swan, cormorant.
      5 gull species.
      Goldfinch, greenfinch, chaffinch, house sparrow, starling, 16 blackbirds, 1 redwing, wren, robin, crow, magoie, great tit, blue tit.
      Woodpigeon, 1 great-spotted woodpecker (canal)
