A fair few birds seen in and around the arable field at Fairfield NR (A10) this afternoon, including:

120 Jackdaws
40 Linnets (50 seen on 20th March)
40 Fieldfares
30 Meadow Pipits
21 Reed Buntings
5 Chaffinches
5 Stock Doves

Adult Mediterranean Gull mingling with the frisky Black-headed Gulls near the island at Freeman’s Pools (A2).

Five Sand Martins feeding over ‘The Flood’ (A14) at Aldcliffe this afternoon. My first hirundines of the year.
