      Doing wader surveys in an area with no general access today:

      Two Whinchats (males, of course) in hedgerows east of Warton SD503718 today. The earliest I’ve seen.

      Also passing through was a female Common Redstart, and five Willow Warblers.

      Yesterday 12th April: two tussling Red Kites low NE over Scorton 1800.
