      Bits and pieces along the coast / estuary between Cockers Dyke and Lancaster.

      Common Gull 110 just E of Cockers Dyke at SD375498.

      Skylark decent densities e.g. 15 singing along Pilling embankment between Fluke Hall and Lane Ends.

      Reasonable productivity of c5 pairs Lapwing (young of various sizes) along this stretch a stark contrast with Aldcliffe. Three pairs of Redshank (behaviour!) with young on inner saltmarsh c SD411495.

      Corn Bunting: three (one singing, others poss juvs) here at SD409494 and a pair at Braides SD433509.

      Whooper Swan adult near Braides flood at SD440514.

      Cluster of breeding Meadow Pipits in gorse, embankment and saltmarsh juncus either side of SD447515 along the Cocker channel. Circa seven pairs. Two parties of Linnets with recently-fledged young here.

      Three drake Wigeon at the mouth of the River Conder SD454563 also here Goosander diving with two three-quarter scale young and 26 Bar-tailed Godwits.

      Whitethroats seem to be having a second wind despite the high wind (!) and thick cloud. e.g. eight singing along mixed used path between Ashton and Freeman’s Pools.
