      River Conder from layby at 10.30
      Three Avocets – adult and two juvs – one with yellow flag J6
      Six Greenshanks
      One Black-tailed Godwit

      At least four juv Common Tern around and a Common Snipe on the pool
      Tree Sparrow with House Sparrows along the hedge

      Two Whimbrel on the Lune at Ashton Hall area

      Approximately twenty Swifts over the cycle path at Aldcliffe

        Thanks for the avocet sighting Barrie. 6J is one of two from the last brood to hatch, and is an offspring of one of the birds fledged at Conder pool in 2020.

          Thanks for confirming that Ian. I was looking to see if there was a metal ring on the adult but couldn’t see one – I did wonder if it was that brood.

            Juv Avocet 6J again on the River Conder with sibling and un-ringed adult.

            Seventeen Greenshanks at Conder Pool, also a Kingfisher being chased by a paranoid Lapwing. 10+ Common Terns still there.
