Seafront and Happy Mount Park 0915 – 1030

Decided to attempt a count of waders at Bare on the falling tide this morning. Well into it and a peregrine arrived at Broadway and got everything moving except the shelduck. After a pass along the front from Bare to Broadway and a couple of dashes over the Broadway “inlet” it soared up high and circled for quite a while and then belted down again, only to land and sit (possibly with a catch).
      1 grey heron, 318 oystercatchers, 43 redshanks, 41 turnstones, 27 knot, 29 dunlin, 10 ringed plover, 59 lapwing, 8 curlew, 44 black-tailed godwits (near Scalestones), 20 shelduck, 31 wigeon, 7 great crested grebe.
Since the golf club has been closed, the greens have been attracting more oystercatchers and curlews.
