Great spotted woodpecker in Happy Mount Park – first I have had there for sometime.
Nuthatch, coal tit, blue tit, great tit, bullfinch, chaffinch, wren – first time I have been in the park this early for quite a while and it paid off for lack of disturbance.
Seafront – 31 crows before the tide rose, 2 herons, 1 little egret. Also one unidentified seal drifted in with the tide.
I was trying to count the black-headed gulls ( recent counts 130, 176,) as I thought there looked to be more than usual, but I gave up when a raft of gulls, mostly black-headed, arrived on the tide – at a guess at least 200 mixed gulls.
