      Redstart and Pied Flycatcher 2-3 of each singing males.
      Ring Ouzel Pair
      Common Sandpiper displaying pair by foot bridge
      Lapwing and Curlew low numbers compared with former years the very dry conditions are probably not helping

        I have wanted to get a record shot of a pied flycatcher this season and so it was helpful members of this forum that put me onto good places. I dipped at Strid Wood, Bolton Abbey a couple of weeks ago, so thought I would try Barbondale.
        It is nice to report seeing a pair and obtaining my photo (several in fact although the quality wasn’t great.
        Other birds seen were
        Pied flycatcher
        red grouse
        pheasant
        mallard
        blue tit
        long tailed tit
        willow warbler
        blackcap
        wren
        robin
        blackbird
        mistle thrush
        nuthatch
        great spotted woodpecker
        chaffinch
