4 Barnacle Geese still at the northern end of Aldcliffe Marsh.
c.200 Canada Geese and c.350 Canada Geese were either on the river or flying across to fields near Heaton.
A huge flock (c.4000 ?) Pink-footed Geese flew up the Lune Estuary from the south at 11.15 am and dropped into the fields near Heaton – well worth checking this area in the coming days.
Also on the river between the pylons at Stodday and Heaton Marsh (as ‘scoped from the east side of the estuary): 4 Whooper Swan (family group), 19 Goldeneye, 4 Goosander, 1 female Red-breasted Merganser, 9 Gadwall, 1 Little Grebe, but only 2 Little Egret.

Lancaster Canal at Aldcliffe Road – 3 colour-ringed Black-headed Gull: White J8LA (Norwegian), Blue 2N32 and Blue 2X90 (both from the Lake District).
