I managed to get a glimpse of Mr. Atkins today, having visually eluded me for at least 6 months. It flew in to a clump of dead reeds on the towpath side and then skulked there, only showing its presence with the occasional movement of the reeds.
2 females seen in my garden in Hala, one attempted the fatball feeder but both seemed happier on the apples spiked on the hawthorn bush. One was feeding in the half light until 1625.
