Correction. Looking at my record photo (attached)it was 3 cattle egrets and one little egret. The milk Tanker arrived and I was blocking the road – well that’s my excuse! They were feeding well and maybe they’ll be back tomorrow if somebody wants to get better photographs.

Cetti’s calling from the thick scrub (I remember when that was species rich grassland!)to the east of the footpath junction at the bottom of Heald Brow.
Between 13.33 and 14.07 I photographed nine skeins all passing south over Middlebarrow Quarry/ Silverdale Moss area. Counting them up just now it was 437 birds, I don’t know if they might be the same birds as John’s ?
