Apparently something of a fall of Willow Warblers this morning with counts of birds in sites where they don’t breed; including Willow Lane, Lancaster (3), Westbourne Rd Lancaster (2) Fairfield NR (4) and a surfeit of birds in local breeding haunts, notably 50 foraging and singing along the length of Rigg Lane, Quernmore ..
A male Redstart was feeding from a Fairfield NR hedge at SD 469607 this afternoon, an area seemingly attractive to this species on spring passage.
