Yesterday (24th Feb) lunchtime

For the first time this year, I noticed rooks flying in and out of the trees on the edge of Standen Park/Lancaster Cemetery/Fenham Carr. Just 7 birds so far – last year this location had 19 nests.

I haven’t yet checked the nearby sites at Hornsea Pottery and Grab Lane, but I assume they will also be starting to get lively.
