Just on the off-chance that it might bear fruit, I followed up PJM’s tipoff that there were berries in White Lund at lunchtime today, and was rewarded with a single Waxwing on a berry tree opposite Mobility Connect on Newgate. It eventually flew off when a particularly noisy lorry came past, but it held its ground against some typically aggressive Mistle Thrushes while it was there. Hopefully will pop up again, or some of its mates. It posed for the obligatory berry in beak shot though.

        11th Nov

7 Waxwings in the same area about 9:20am, in berry trees around Booker cash and carry.
Also a flock of 8 Cattle Egrets flew over heading south
