On last two visits to Leighton Moss seen no hirudines at all. But today after the rain stopped there were at least 150 Swallows low over grass fields at Heversham flying low and at times hovering to pick insects off the grass. A few House and Sand Martin with them and 1 Swift. Then went to Leighton no hirundines but ca 25 Swifts. Flock of 95 Common Gulls at Heversham.
Just had news that one of this years Pied Flycatcher nestlings was in Kent in late July.
