A count of birds on the river and sandbanks during some late afternoon sun highlighting same to perfection it was truly beautiful and a fantastic sight.
      1500 Golden Plover
      2,600 Lapwing
      364 Curlew
      1200 Dunlin
      183 Oystercatcher
      1,800 Black Tailed Godwit
      800 Redshank
1,400 Wigeon (estimated c800 birds out of sight behind high sand bank)
Between 1600 hrs and 1700hrs There was a continuous fly past south going down river of mixed Gulls I would estimate c 2,000 this is happening on a more frequent basis, an area of Glasson sand bank looked like it had been snowing before a gradual decrease as they took flight down river.
2 Barn Owls spending a lot of time hunting and catching voles in rough pasture here at S/Pt, later in the day when dusk approaching they fly off across the river towards Crook Farm area, this practice has been going on for quite some time.
