An anticlockwise walk around Sunderland Point (8.00 – 10.15 am)
      1 Chiffchaff – The Lane
1 juvenile Wheatear – on the limestone boulders at the Point
3 Swallow – flew east across the estuary by the Second Terrace
1 Jay ‘u-turned’ and flew back north on reaching Sunderland Hall
Also: 4 species of raptor – 1 each of Peregrine, Kestrel, Sparrowhawk and Common Buzzard
Vis mig limited to a few Woodpigeon, Meadow Pipit and Skylark and 1 Stock Dove

      Heysham Nature Reserve (10.40 – 12.00 noon)
3 Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 found by Shaun Coyle along the ringing ride behind the Nature Reserve hut at 9.30 am, gave a couple of brief views at 10.50 – 11.00 am
2 found by Shaun Coyle, Alan Physick and myself by the Dipping Pond at 11.35 am and 11.50 am both gave better views.
Also: 5+ Chiffchaff around the parts of the reserve we checked.
Shaun and Alan stayed on so maybe more Yellow-browed Warblers will be found.
