Battery Car Park, Morecambe – 1 adult Herring x Lesser Black-backed hybrid among c.600 Herring Gull on the beach north of the car park with the rising tide. Also: 2 Bar-tailed Godwit.
Eric Morecambe Pools (from Crag Road) – 1 juvenile Spoonbill flew into land on the small part of the Eric Morecambe Pool still containing water
2 Greenshank and 1 juv. Ruff on Allen Pool
1 Great White Egret, 1 juv. Marsh Harrier and 4 Little Grebe on Barrow Scout Fields
Lilian’s Hide, Leighton Moss – 1 juv. Pectoral Sandpiper showing well along the edge of the reeds opposite the hide and occasionally disappearing into the reeds.
Also: 2 Great White Egret, 13 Little Egret, c.1200 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 juv. Ruff, 7 Snipe, 1 Water Rail and 1 juv. Marsh Harrier.
