Been doing the January Survey counts. Two speces stand out as being really well up this year. Starlings present in larger flocks with large numbers around farms on the waste piles. Blackbirds everywhere really noticeable when driving appearing from hedges everwhere. Probably in both species continetal birds driven here during the first cold spell. On the other hand fewer than usual Redwing and Fieldfare. Shows the value of doing such surveys.
