Lower Hide, Leighton Moss – 2 Lesser Scaup (male and female) showing well, close in front of the hide. As is often the case on days of strong E or NE wind, all the wildfowl were clustered close to the hide.
Also: 42 Tufted Duck, 4 Pochard and 22 Goldeneye.

Red Nab, Heysham – Female-type Black Redstart again on the rocks along the shoreline at Ocean Edge. It favoured an area about 150 metres south of the gate to Red Nab, close to a corrugated grey plastic pipe, where someone seems to have placed some mealworms on one of the rocks.

39 Pale-bellied Brent Geese flew in from the south and landed on the sea off Red Nab at high tide.

Low Road, Middleton – The long-staying Glossy Ibis was again in the flooded field behind the village hall, late morning.

Aldcliffe Marsh – c.1500 Pink-footed Geese spread across the northern end of the marsh – as viewed from the Golden Ball side of the river.
