Ringed blue tit

Ringed blue tit has just visited our garden in Hala. The rings were red over white on the right leg. It looks like it might be white over metal on the left leg. It was quite a wide red ring.

Also another bird with blue over red and white on one leg and presumed yellow over metal on the other.

Is there any ringing activity at the University still?

Yes those are going to be birds from the Lancaster University campus. Breeding adult blue tits are colour ringed and nestlings get a metal ring.
