Wednesday 4th morning
Barbondale: 1pr pied flycatcher, 1pr siskin (D), 2 tree pipit, meadow pipits mobbing male cuckoo, 1 grey wagtail
1 garden warbler seen (not singing), 3 greylag geese, 3 buzzards (pair displaying drove 3rd bird off) 1 wheatear
Surprise of the day was a red squirrel by the bridge in the woodland.
Loyne Bridge: about 12 sand martins, rookery too much foliage to count, 1 little egret
On the swan field towards Melling there was a huge gathering of gulls on a mowed field – at least 250 lesser black-backed gulls counted, plus herring gulls and black-headed gulls.
Burrow: 1 swift 1 swallow
Hornby: 1 common sandpiper, 1 grey wagtail, 4+ swallows.
Thursday 5th
Happy Mount Park morning: 2 blackcap, 1 chiffchaff, 3 bullfinch, 1 song thrush, 5 wrens – all singing
Bolton-le-Sands afternoon: 1 whimbrel, 8 swallows
