Went looking for the whimbrel off Little Fell Road yesterday evening (still there, thanks Pete Crooks for flagging them up). Whilst there heard a cuckoo in the distance towards Clougha.
Also on the same walk (Newlands/Little Fell/Langthwaite): a few curlews, plenty of lapwings, a handful of oystercatchers, one pied wagtail and seven rooks.
