A partial summer plumaged Curlew Sandpiper appeared on the shore at Potts Corner around 1330, about half an hour before high tide. Think this is the first of the autumn for the area? The usual Grey Plover were out on the mud as well, but we didn’t notice any Knot (but maybe we just missed them in the rain!).
Round at Sunderland Point, not as many waders on the dropping tide, but a whimbrel was nice to see. Walking back to Potts Corner, we spotted four wheatear on the edge of the marsh, and a Sparrowhawk hunting over the saltmarsh.
