This is an important wintering site for Coot and diving duck but the previous balance between water sports and secluded corners which has been the case most of the time for many years, has recently been tipped towards watersports with a large black speedboat scaring even the Coot off the site. I think (eg Leighton Moss staff?) could perhaps have a quiet word with management here stressing the inter-relationship of many of the birds with Leighton Moss, especially as an unfrozen refuge during icy weather. This has been posted just to see if there are any birders whoi have tiesw to the site eg time shareson chalets who might have some in-house influence
