23/3 Barn Owl at 2330hrs
24/3 Redwing at least 1 over at 0235hrs; 5 Curlew registrations between 0100 and 0225hrs and plenty of Oystercatcher activity. Grey Heron screeched loudly at 0455hrs
25/3 Teal 1 over at 2300hrs. No Curlew heard overnight.
26/3 Moorhen 1 over at 0050hrs
27/3 Common Scoter at 2200, 2250, 2253, 2325, and 2345hrs. Each lot took 1 minute to pass over. Again, no Curlew.
A Robin starts singing at 0230hrs on each session and continues right though to 0600hrs (when I knock off the recorder).
Tawny Owls have been very vocal – a definite pair plus a distant male.
