There were several irruptive flocks of tits and Long-tailed Tits flying and hedge-hopping S, most of which ended up at the tip of the point where biggest flocks were 17 Blue Tit, Great Tit and Coal Tit 5 apiece and Long-tailed Tit 37. There was then the usual ‘towering’ of up to c30 metres, hydrophobia, re-orientation and restless confusion.
What was probably the same Merlin gave three sightings. Two Sparrowhawks were noted.
Birds in the bushes and on in the fields included;
