Two mallard females in Happy Mount Park have broods. The one in the photos is pale coloured and has bred there in previous years. This time she had 7 chicks – photos on 21 June and 3 weeks later on 13 July – but on 16 July was down to 6. The other, more normal coloured duck had 6 very small chicks on 13 July and that was down to 5 on 16 July.
