Morning/early-afternoon trek along the Lune from Skerton to Bull Beck, today.

9 male and 7 female goosanders, including a pair at Halton seemingly attempting to mate.
1 female red-breasted merganser briefly between the weirs at Halton then flew down river.
Little grebe at Crook O’ Lune. Also a kingfisher, briefly.

Plenty of waders and gulls in the fields around Over Lune Barn (the not-quite island/oxbow lake at SD5465). This included lapwing, oystercatcher, a few common and lesser black-backed gulls (among many others), plus some greylags. Very flat and difficult to get a good view so if there was anything more interesting, I didn’t see it.
