The high tides and storms of the last few days have seen larger numbers of waders being flushed up and finding what bits of dry land they can.
Over 1,000 black-tailed godwit seen from 17/2 to 22/2 (so far) ‘murmuring’ and roosting when there’s land available on Colloway.
Today and Friday, quite a large number of curlew (today 237 counted).
Approx 400 lapwing with 100 golden plover.
30 oyster catchers, numerous dunlin, 200+ wigeon, 4 goosander (impressively on a very rough high tide on 18/2) plus a variety of gulls, cormorant, shelduck, not many redshank
