      When news of the Pilling Lesser White-fronted Goose broke this morning I cycled straight down to the LDBWS feeding station at Fairfield– in hopes it would relocate to feed with the finches and buntings there.

      No sign, but the following were using the site:

      Chaffinch 44
      Reed Bunting 16
      Blackbird 6
      Linnet 5
      Stock Dove 1
      Woodpigeon 1
      Kestrel 1 m (made a solid attempt at hunting the songbirds– even pushing itself through twigs, Sparrowhawk style)

      Nearby 8 Meadow Pipits were in the stubble and 26 Fieldfares in the crown of a tall ash in Pony Wood.
