Recent freezing up of pools and feeding areas appear to have prompted an egret exodus. This morning only 1 great white and 14 little egrets recorded. 12 of the little egrets went out to east, only 2 to the more regular SW. Also marsh harrier, bittern, and otter while in hide 7.20 – 8.50.
Follow up to observations at LDBWS indoor meeting on Monday 25th: 3 drake pochard at Leighton Moss on 24th, 1 hawfinch at Gait Barrows on 28th.
Also spotted redshank at Eric Morecambe Hide on 26th and 2 stonechat from bridleway beside Silverdale Moss on 28th.
